A few days ago, I posted an SOS on a no start problem. The car died in traffic while my wife was driving to work and wouldn't restart; had to have it towed home. At first the car would not even turn over. The battery was dead, but the alternator checked out OK. After changing out the battery, the car turned over and had spark, but no action from the fuel pump. I first thought it was a fuel relay problem, but a new one did not work either. This led to thinking about the ECU. There was one other clue concerning the ECU, and that was that the onboard diagnostics for the fuel injection system was not working. A person named Stavros responded to a post on that stating that this could be due to a bad ECU. To cut to the chase, I obtained a replacement ECU and installed it. The relay started working, as did the fuel pump, and the onboard diagnostics. The car started up for the first time in almost two weeks. Took that long to do the various tests and order parts. Working 10 hour days cuts into time to play with cars. Thanks to all who responded to my earlier posts and my friend Brian for the replacement ECU. If anyone can tell me how the dead battery was related to the ECU going out (or vice versa), that would be appreciated..
