How much space is normal between the top of the rear tires and the bottom lip of the rear fenders of a '96 965 wagon? I have only about 1" of space showing.

My car looks "level" front-to-rear (the rockers are parallel to the ground), but most other 7 and 9 Series wagons look higher in the rear than mine, and definately look "jacked up". Does the 965 use the self contained self-leveling type shocks that are $500/pr? My shocks feel fine damping-wise, by the way.
