This one's got me a little stumped.
-Runs rough when cold, no power on only three cylinders, runs smooth after about two minutes when dead cylinder finally starts firing.
-Finally isolated dead cylinder to #3.
-Changed plugs, cap, rotor, #3 injector. Same plug wires.
-has had history of losing coolant oh so slowly, now seems losing a little faster...
-no vapor from tailpipe; no emulsion in motor oil.
-will run a little hotter than I'd like when pulling up a hill on a hot day.
Had symptoms exactly like this on my ol' v-8 Studebaker truck many years ago. When I removed the spark plug in the offending cylinder when cold, it was covered with moisture droplets, indicating a leaking head gasket. Apparently the moisture was enough to foul the plug til it evaporated as the motor warmed up.
Sound about right? I still need to pull the #3 plug when motor is cold to see what I see... if anything. Hoping its a head gasket and not something more serious like a crack in the head.
Thanks, Robert
