So today while under the hood of the teenager's '91 244 we decided to investigate the 'check engine' light which came on this week. Proceeded per the Bentley manual and got a 1-1-1 code... which supposedly means all is OK. So for laughs and educational value I did the next check, and got a 2-3-4 code (throttle positiomn switch), which was then followed by a 3-3-4 code - huh???
The final 'insult' was that I could not erase the codes. I repeated the 'erase' procedure about 10 times and ultimately was unable to delete the error codes.
What I would like to know above all else is how to 'clear' the EZK memory. The car starts and runs fine, and I sincerely doubt that timing is being reduced to meet an arbitrary standar. Any suggestions?
