A\C thermo Switch Install 200

What is involved in replacing the AC thermo switch on a 1984 240. The copper line from the switch broke on mine and now the AC will not work. Is there any tricks or is it as simple as putting the two clamps around the copper piping at the expansion valve. Thanks
