3rd gear vibration 200

The vibration I get from our 89 245 with the M47 manual tranny is actually only in third gear and at high rpm. I wrapped out 1st, 2nd and 4th and they were all smooth. The vibe comes every time in 3rd and at the same rpm all the way up to redline, shift to fourth and it's gone. Does that mean I have a problem with the transmission. I have missed the shift to third a couple of times. That has been a while though. Then again, the vibration has been going on for some time.
