Question about M46 200

A few years ago I replaced the M46 on my 1980 wagon. The new transmission came off a 1987 740 Turbo.

The owner of the boneyard told me that trans on 740 Turbos had roller bearings on (I forget which) gears where the trans on NA cars had only bushings--therefore, the trans would be more durable.

Is this correct?

The transmission has over 200k on it now, works ok. I'm thinking about getting rid of the old car. If the trans is something special, I might junk the car and salvage it(among other things). I've got a 1992 that's begging for a stick.

I appreciate any help you can give.
