Before I tear apart my newly-acquired - newly-upholstered seats I'd like some advice. I'd like to take the headrests off the old seats and install them on the new.
I've read that seats from way back have the guts to accomodate the headrests (don't know what year these new ones are) but I tore up the back of one old seat and pulled out the vertical tubes w/ the u-shaped notches at the bottoms into which the headrest tubes slide.
How to proceed? What exactly is inside a seat w/o headrests? I can't easily get the threaded plastic fittings on the top of the seat (that hold the headrest in place) off the vertical tubes.
And I can't see how I can NEATLY install the entire vertical tube piece on each side of the seat, especially if there is one to remove on each side. I found it a bit difficult w/ the seat cover cut open and the seat padding.
Then again I can always seek professional help. :)
