Burned out light indicator 200 1984

My burned out light indicator(dash) comes on when I step on the brakes. It comes on, then goes out while I step on the brakes. It blinks on and off everytime I step on the brakes. ???? I changed the bulbs but no difference. Anybody got any ideas. Thanks, Glen from Minnesota
