windshield wiper woes 200

The windshield wiper on the passenger side of my 1987 240 DL sedan is operating most erratically.

Rather than an approximate 45 degree sweep to the right, the movement of the blade (at all speeds, including intermittent) is practically 180 degrees (over to the driver's side). Sometimes, the arm simply flops down below the windshield. I have tightened the entire arm, but that did not help matters.

I would appreciate any advice/wisdom forum members might be able to offer.
