Rear Differential Making Noise 200 1982

How much should the rear differential twist when shifting from R to D. I have replaced all bushing except for the front trailing arm bushings and I am getting a significant amount of twist in the diff when I shift gears, It is accompanied by a clunking noise. Is there anything else I can do. My car has the 'hourglass' shaped tourque rod bushings. I installed these with the hourglass in a vertical position. as I believe the old ones were installed.

Any Ideas? The car is quiet on the highway and it only clunks when shifting gears or at takeoff or while braking.
