Rear Windscreen Wiper 200 1977

Has anyone replaced the rear wiper in an older (75 - 79) wagon? I want to do this one myself 'cause the rear wiper is very slow. I figure if I clean it out, I might get a couple more years life out of it, but I haven't even removed the panel covering the hatch yet. Any advice?
