1991 240 having trouble starting 200 1991

I am having some trouble starting my '91 240. Engine turns okay when you turn the key, but it has lots of trouble "catching" and never really ever starts. Every once in a while it starts. I rev the engine, let it idle for 60 seconds, and then it dies. Any suggestions on where to start the troubleshooting fun? I am pretty new to Volvos. Timing belt was changed in June, but doesn't have enough miles on it for the tension adjustment yet.
