warning lights and jumpy idle 200 1984

I have a 84' 244 GL, 4sp. manual, I am having two problems.
1) The idle jumps 500rpm (+ -) when I take it out of gear (4spd. manual), I have to keep the A/C on, when I trun off the compressor it sometimes stalls. With the A/C on it does not stall as much, but it tries.
2) I had a headlight go out and I replaced it, but now the warning light will not go off. It comes on when the car is running and I turn on the lights. I have cleaned all connections, but no dice.
Any help would be nice, thanks:D
