Another wants-to-stall query 200 1984

Almost every time my engine wants to return to idle RPMs after higher RPMs (like engaging the clutch to come to a stop), the RPMs drop to about 500, then revs up to around 2000 before finally settling on 900 or 1000 RPMs. I assume the reving part comes from the air mass meter or some computer trying to compensate for the sudden drop in engine speed. But why does the engine drops its RPMs to the point of tripping the oil pressure idiot light? A sticking valve? I hope it's not the AMM...them things is 'spensive.

I checked the archives and found references to the CIS, throttle control valve, AMM. Not sure which applies to my situation.

The engine is a B230F. I assume it has the "newer" fuel injection compared to the older 240s.
Thanks much!
