Two questions: After I start my car I hear a high-pitched whining sound coming from the engine, which I assume is coming from the starter. The engine starts fine, but this whining noise doesn't go away unless I turn of the engine. Once I stepped on the gas pedal while it was making this noise and it made a louder grinding/whining noise. This doesn't happen very often, maybe once a month. Has anyone had this same problem and if so, what was the diagnosis?
