Engine keeps running with ignition off 200 1983

Can anyone help with this problem? when I got home tonight my wagon kept running
with the key in the off position. Everything else was off such as the radio. I pulled the wire to the coil to kill the engine and disconected the battery cable. would this be a ignition swith problem possibly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks
