Howdy,

Have an 88 240 with a manual tranny, and she has a sporadic problem with first and second gear. Sometimes, it is almost impossible to get it into gear, and other times there is no problem. When it's too hard to shift, I jam it into third, then over to first, which usually works. Checked the reverse detent, and that isn't the problem. It doesn't seem clutch-related, but what do I know?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
