My 95 960 with 98K makes a bad sounding noise once in a while. It is a pulsating clunk while I turn the steering wheel. It only seems to happen when turning a tight radius (but not all the way to the lock) in a parking lot, either direction. I recently had the control arm bushings replaced. I also replaced the sway bar links and bushings, thinking that this might be the cause, but apparently it wasn't. The car drives fine on the highway and doesn't pull to one side at all. The steering is crisp. The outer tie rod ends seem fine as do the ball joints.
One other (possibly unrelated) symptom is that when turning a corner at about 15-20 mph, the resistance felt in the steering wheel changes about half way through the turn such that I turn the steering wheel about another 1/8 of a turn without trying. This seems approximately concurrent with stepping off of the brake and onto the gas.
Thank you, in advance, for your help.
