I am purchasing a friend's 240 Turbo-manual transmission.
Background: The car has set up for 2 years outdoors in Pensacola, FL at his vacation home. The car was running fine the last time it was started. I've spend all day reviewing materials and parts list on line and ordered the repair manuals from Bentley and Haynes.
Question(s):
Engine: What should I pour down the engine to lub the pistons(rings)cyl walls etc? E.g. Transmission fluid, diesel fuel?...I've heard it all today.
Turbo-charger: Does this need oil?
Fuel system: How do you drai the fuel tank of the bad gas? Should I try to blow out the fuel lines with compress air? Not sure if fuel-injected or carb. If fuel injects how do I clean them? What about the fuel pump? Is it assumed bad and need to be replaced or is it cleanable?
Other questions: Is there a problem with rust in the floor panels. Althought the car was closed, do these cars have a problem with leaking window seals? I am going to pull up the carpet tommorrow and inspect for damage.
Any info helpful. Thanks, JWC
