electric window problem 700 1986

The driver side window on my 86 740 GLE operates ok for 3/4ths of the way down and then strains reeeeeal slow the rest of the way. I'm afraid i'm going to damage the motor but I love to rest my arm on the sill. Has anyone else had this problem?
What could be causing This????
