weak link after change to poly bushings-anyone experience this????? 700 1988

Redid front suspension on 88 wgn EXCEPT sway bar links.Went with polyurethane from FCP groton.LINKS HAVE POLY WITH rubber for sway bar.need to replace those with IPD poly-PERHAPS that will help my problem: driver side link broke and I"m wondering WHY? Every day driving car I hear "CLUNK" coming from that area-that led to old link breaking. When tighening bottom link-to-control arm-HOW TIGHT OR DEPRESSED ARE BUSHINGS? ALSO do the tops need to be as tight? sounds like a dumb question but I notice that those links aren't straight-up and down, but that the top is further BACK.It took quite a bit of persuasion to line them up to seat bushings for install.NORMAL? Will IPD POLY FIX THIS? I notice on 940's and probably 740's with steel control arms it's improved over a straight link!DO I HAVE A GEOMETRY PROBLEM BECAUSE OF POLY AND IT"S PLACING too much stress on the link(s)? HELP PLEASE!!!!! mark
