1988/740/AW71 New OD with Probable Short - Can't Find It

Hi All,

Sorry if this message has been posted earlier but I searched and could not find it. I just finished changing the OD solenoid on my 88 740 with an AW71 tranny. The relay tests good with a click and the overdrive dashboard light toggles correctly without the (single, I think) solenoid wire connected. When I connect the solenoid (to the wire coming out of the body toward the rear of the car), the dash board overdrive light illuminates continuously despite pressing the overdrive switch repeatedly. There has to be a short somewhere but I can't figure out where it is.

A single wire comes out of the OD housing. Is this the ground or the positive wire? Is their a wire I'm missing? How is the OD grounded.
