I have access to the passenger side blower fan through a whole someone (??) cut in the center of the air duct housing. By pressing on the blower motor shaft with a screw driver I can spin the fan and get it to partially work???
I have check the fan speed switch and it appears to be functioning correctly and there doesn't seem to be any other relays or circuits between the fan speed switch and the actual motor. I've been to the local U-Pull and after about 1 hour I determined I could not possibly get to the blower motor without a chainsaw and lots of wounds. So, if I can confirm that indeed I have a bad/blown blower motor then I'm looking for a mechanic.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
First... Thanks to all for the information. I've already solved my automatic overdrive problem with info from these forums. But, having an '86 240 DL with approx. 180,000 miles (I say approx. because my odometer went in 1997...another project) I have many more issues to deal with, especially in the Florida heat (still 90 degree down here).
My A/C & heat blower motor has cut out and I'd like determine if indeed the motor has gone or if the problem could be other wiring or resistor problems ???
Where exactly (novice here) is the Blower Motor Resistor located ??
Where are any other Blower Motor relays, etc. located ??
Thanks again.
