Vacuum question 200 1983

The hose coming off the flame trap to the intake manifold is oily inside, so I changed it. Also cleaned the oil seperator( Black Box) and the flame trap, cleaned out the fitting on manifold the hose attaches to. Next day the hose is loose, leaking air. The fitting is a straight nipple w\o barbs. I shouldn't put a small clamp on the hose but what to do? I can manually hold down the hose but if not, leakage. ??? Mark
