steering play 200

Hi,

My 1984 245 has a small amount of play in the steering wheel; does *not*
affect driving/turning but when driving straight ahead there's a noticable
looseness to the steering wheel. This "wiggle" isn't translated to the
wheels, because the steering wheel moves about an inch on the circumference and the car continues staight ahead.

What's the likely problem and fix?
