Oil In the Intercooler

I recently discovered that a pretty significant amount of oil is leaking from something in the vacinity of my intercooler. Oil has pooled up in the intercooler and can be drained through the drain in the bottom. Its not to the point that it represents an amount that puts my engine in danger, but I suspect the oil is coming from the turbo, and that this means the turbo is getting ready to stop functioning. Is there anything preventative I can do to the turbo at this point to stop the hemorraging? Or do I have to face the music and start saving for a new turbo? If so, what are my options on a turbo/turbo upgrade? (I cant afford anything in the $3,000 range right now)
