Tie Rod Installation Question 200

Dumb question...

Just finishing a strut replacement (ouch), and putting the nut back on the tie rod to the control arm..but the threaded end of the ball joint (on the tie rod) just turns the ball as I try to tighten the nut...how do I lock it so I can tighten the nut???

This is probably pretty obvious to the more experienced....
