Rough idle after MIG welding done on car floor. 200 1983

Had car running like a champ, took to body shop to replace floor metal behind driver's seat...shop welded on a piece of sheet metal, then layered on fiberglass and sprayed undercoating on both sides of the repair...I had asked them to undo the battery to prevent electric overload during the MIG welding. Now car idles like crap...I suspect current may have flowed up to AMM & fried it...what say you ,O Volvo Gurus?
