84 245GLT Wheels - DUST CITY! 200

What can I use to get that nasty brake dust off my 240 turbo wheels?

I know IPD sells that P21s stuff, but it's kinda expensive....is there something I can use (like simple green or 409) to safely take the brake dust (and brake gunk - hard black deposits I assume are from the dust collecting and hardening on the wheel) without damaging the finish?

I need to wash the car twice a week just to make the wheels look normal due to the high amount of brake dust that always covers them so I don't want to use expensive stuff. I mean, I don't need to spend 15 bucks a week JUST to keep my wheels clean! LOL There's more important stuff - like GAS, and at at $1.68 a gallon here it sure as hell isn't "cheap!" LOL

My neighbor says to use that home cleaner "409" on my wheels, but I thought I'd ask first cause I don't want it eating my finish off.
