Nivomats on solid axle?? 700 1991

Is there a way to tell if my car had nivomats on it, as it did not when I bought the car used? The rear end sags and if I step on the hitch I can bottom it out and I only weigh 180lbs. I just don't think this is right as the front has 3inches of space between the tire and well and the rear tire is in the well! Sunday I went and got a set of springs off another wagon at the you-pull-it-"park" but I have not had a chance to put them on as it has been raining since. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
