I bought a stereo from Crutchfeld...I have 1995 940 Station Wagon that I bought in late August 1995 with 6 speakers (2 tweeters, 4 in front/rear). I was told that I would have to do a standard factory amp bypass (which is underneath the steering column), so they sent me the harnesses and it all seemed fine. That is, until I took off the kick plate beneath the steering column, only to find that there was no factory amp. Got on the phone with Crutchfeld, and they took me through evey 940 wiring design for 1995 (we also checked 93 and 94), but nothing seemed to fit my two harness design. As the tech guy was getting ready to pass this onto his superior, he remembered hearing about Volvo running out of radios for the 940 bc it was discontinued after 95. Since I bought the car in late August, the new models were already into the factories, so on a whim, we checked the 1995 Volvo 850 radio wiring. Sure enough, in my 1995 940 wagon, I have an 850 radio, complete with all of it's wiring! They're shipping me the new harness, and I'll update when I get everything hooked up...
Whew!
