Amm readings 200

I took a reading of the amm using an ohmmeter, and the reading was of 3.0 ohms. The bentley manual says the reading should be between 3.5 and 4.5 ohm. My car has been smoking and wasting gas and sputtering on startup lately, does anyone know if that much of a difference in the reading could make my car run rich?
