Rear view mirror defroster not working! 900 1996

The defroster on my driver's side rear view mirror is not working. The mirror adjuster works fine, so it cannot be fuse related problem. The passenger's side and rear window are fine, so the switch should be ok too. Could it be the defroster wiring attached to the mirror broken? Has anyone taken the mirror assambly apart before? Thanks in advance for any advise.
