getting sick of buying oil - costing me almost as much as petrol! 900

well not really - but using way to much!

ok I know its probably the turbo (oil in tubes leading to intercooler...)but...

I dont want to spring for a new turbo to find its not that..the only evidence i have is it seem to leak VERY little round town or on long distance but slow (55-60 mph runs but leaks like a sieve on faster runs...) we are talking maybee 1/20-1/20 of litre per 100 miles around town (noticible use - but only just) against 1/3litre in 100 miles at 70-80 mph....

now I know its probably the turbo (although i thought they were supposed to seal better under boost..) but I am going to do a compression test anyway - hell its cheap and may tell me something...

plan is per haynes to disconnect lt to coil, pull injector connectors pull plugs and test....

anyone got any other ideas I should try whilst im there - or thoughts on this at all


oh and i get 21" vacume at the manafold at tick over....
