I have an '86 745T and picked up an oil filter extender from a wrecked '87 turbo. I'm going to add the extender to the '86.
The'86 setup has oil cooling lines leading from behind the oil filter near the engine block.
The '87 setup has oil cooling lines leading from just behind the extended filter.
The dilemma: I need to either disconnect the '86 lines and plug the holes in the '86 setup,
or
I could leave the '86 oil cooling lines in place as is, and disconnect and plug oil cooling lines in the '87 oil extender.
As I'm writing this, I think that I should remove and plug the oil cooling lines next to the engine block, since the extender piece has cooling lines coming out of it. Correct?
Thanks in advance.
