Gauges- mechanical or electrical? 200

I am adding the three gauge cluster to my 1990 240. I already have an oil pressure gauge and small tach intalled in the two left side holes. I don't have a turbo either. Therefore, I was going to put in the voltmeter, engine oil temperature, and something else. Should I get VDO mechanical or electric gauges? Which ones are easier to hook up? Thanks for the imput. Any suggestions for shopping for gauges new or used is appreciated. I assume that any 52mm gauge will fit.
