High mileage 740 700 1989

Need advice from the high mileage guys.
Have the opportunity to purchase a 1989 740 with 238,000 miles on the odometer
Apart from "check engine light" being on, it runs well, auto shift is relatively smooth. Exterior good original paint. Seats good, plastic interior shabby.
What is it worth and is it worth acquiring.
