I know that this topic has been posted several times in the group, but I can never find an '86+ speedometer in any of the yards I visit.
I'm in need of the nylon gear to make the odometer work. The small toothgear that attaches to the nylon gear in the unit works great and is brand-new, thanks to an ill-fated repair by a speedo shop. That nylon gear is a round white/clear disc with a "tooth gear" of its own that will usually dry-up/harden (or soften into a gel-type substance) and break.
Does anyone happen to know of a place that sells this pieces? I've called around in the state of Florida (Gainesville, Tampa, Miami) but these guys get kicks out of hearing you beg before they say "no." God-forbid they can't make another gear for the pennies it costs them and just sell it. If you happen to have an extra one laying around and willing to donate (thought I'd try..) or sell, could you drop me an email?
Thanks,
