Transmission Shifting 700

Recently purchased a 1986 740 Turbo. In great shape except the transmission shifts somewhat hard from first to second and then I have to let off the pedal a slight amount to get the shift from second to third. It shifts into overdrive without problem. Read the FAQs, had the transmission flushed yesterday and have put about 30 miles on it, don't see any difference yet. Any suggestions with these symptoms? Thanks.
