This problem has been the subject of multiple posts but I thought with Halloween upon us it might be a good time to drive out the demons that are hunting this car. The problem: Car will not start about half the time. It is ignition related. Replaced dist twice (one used, one new). Replaced ignition amp/isolator (small module near battery) twice. Car will start and run fine then will not restart a few hours later, then start and run fine the next day. All this with the car not being moved or anything replaced, wiggled, tapped, etc. I have a replacement ignition module but installation is a bear (to the left of the driver's feet). The dist output is good as measured at amp module whether or not the car will start. Other factors that may or may not influence problem: Car cranks over slower than my other Volvo's. Ignition switch is worn and needs to be turned carefully to turn on accessories. Wiggling key does not stall the car. Opinions welcome!
