'New' 740GLE 700 1988

I recently purchased an '88 740GLE from a place I call "Hoopty Haven" for $2000.00. This is my first 4 cly. volvo. I have an '83 760 that I love. (I know, I'm the only one on the planet that likes the PRV V-6). The 740 has 117,000 miles on it. Pretty decent shape cosmetically. Even has power driver's seat, which I didn't know the 740 was available with. Anyway, 1 month into ownership I've developed a pretty good leak in the 740, it marks it's territory at both home and work. I've kept a very close eye on fluid levels and have noticed no loss in any. I've read that a clogged flame trap can cause blow by, and am asking how I go about cleaning this thing, or do I have to take it to expensive volvo dealer for help. All the service records are in the car and the car was serviced at the dealer up to 75K miles. Would a new timing belt be in order as well? Other than the leak I'm pleasantly surprised by the car. Overall it's a carbon copy of my 760, but I was surprised that 114 hp 4-cly would get it moving. Not as much low-end stop light grunt as the v-6, but not bad; and great fuel economy. Averaging 25 - only 17 in the v-6. Thanks for your help.
