Hello,
I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it to swap 960 brakes onto the front of my '88 744 Turbo project. The car will see "spirited" street use as well as autocross so as always with brakes, the bigger the better. I know that MVP is offering a conversion kit, but it looks like all it entails is a set of 960 calipers/rotors that bolt right on anyway. Plus they no longer offer slotted rotors with the kit. Long story short-do the 960 calipers/rotors bolt to the 700 series hubs with no problem or is there some subtle difference that requires a shim/bracket/thingamabob to make it work? Also, are there any marked differences in the ABS systems of the two cars that would cause problems?
Thanks,
Christopher
P.S. Just how big are the rotors? I believe my car has 11.25" on the front, now...I would expect that for this to be a noticeable improvement the 960 brakes would be 12.5" at least?
