In my last post on this, I reported discovering by accident that disconnecting the battery for a few minutes would correct a problem of the engine bogging down whenever I tried to accelerate. It was like giving my car a cold reboot--a computer issue?
Well, after a day or so, it started doing the same thing--but only sometimes(!?) Also, this time around, whenever it's refusing to pull, it also has an uneven idle. But if I drive a few miles (gentle pedal action can get the engine going, then at higher RPM it will pull), suddenly it will be ok again. Then it will get balky again, especially if I stop the car for a while. This happens more often when the car is cold--but it can do it fully warm.
FWIW, my car has a 556 computer, which goes with an LH 2.4 injection system, even though it's a 1992 with California emissions controls. Is this car some sort of freak?
Thanks for any help you can provide, and sorry about posting a blank message.
