I am looking to buy my first volvo. The one that I am looking at is a 1985 240 wagon. It has no visible rust, runs and starts without any problemd, has a new radiator, and has about 200,000 miles on it. The owner seems nice and honest. My main question is what should I be looking for or asking about that I am not. The car seems to have been well maintained and the timing belt changes and such were kept up with. I know the car has a a-lot of miles but I hope it will be reliable. Also what are some common things that might break and the costs of repairs? How much is a new engine/transmission, or how often do they need to be rebuilt? Sorry for so many questions, but I just want to be an informed buyer, and a volvo wagon really is my dream car.
Thanks in advance for any advice offered,
Shane
