Hello, and thanks to the brickboard and its users who provide an incredible resource. It has helped keep my girlfriend's 86 240GL wagon running, and brought me from complete automotive ignorance to every now-and-again competence. But now my research has turned up nothing on my current problem--

I removed the oil pan and pump, but in the process of cleaning the gasket mating surfaces on the block, I broke the oil drain tube (well, according to bentley, it's the drain tube...whatever you call it, it's the black hose that hangs down from inside the block). A small portion of the hose remains connected to the block. My question is if I can just replace this hose from under the car (pull the remainder out, and stick a new hose in). In my dismay at breaking the thing, I didn't investigate too closely, except to see that the hose appears to be simply slid onto a fitting in the block. My fear is that the hose is longer than it appears and has to be replaced from above and would require separating the block and head. Another question is where I can obtain the proper part(s)? It was too late to call the dealer, and I cannot find any reference to it in internet catalogs. Is it just regular rubber fuel hose?

Apologies if this is just a simple issue and I'm wasting bandwidth, but it's been a long day... :-)
