My car started acting up, it would jerk; like a misfire, every now and then. It soon got worse, and recently would not start, or if it did start would run for a few minurtes and cut off. I noticed the other night when it cut off, the ballast was glowing red. After the car stalled it got progresively hotter. Is my problem in the coil resistor(ballast), or a bad coil. Or could it be something else, incorrect dwell, short in a wire somewhere, etc..?
