122 Charging Issue solved! 120-130 1967

Well, i solved the problem with my 122's charging issue! A big chagrin, but nobody had caught the problem, simple as it was.

It turns out the stud that the ground was attached to was partially cracked. It wasn't apparent, and nobody noticed it. When I had to turn back from work, I got home, parked the car and drove the 544. I was too busy to investigate the problem.

Today the problem was discovered. The stud had broken off, and the ground was just passively touching what was left of the stud. Apparently, the stud had been cracked, but not cracked through, hence my poor charging. Some PO had cranked on it too hard. There was barely enough of the stud left to reattach the ground, but when it WAS reattached, my charging went up to 14 volts, better than it has even been! To think I have been putting up with piss-poor charging for 3 years!. The thing is, I had checked the ground connection, as had my mechanic.

At any rate, I feel like Ms. Rockefeller what with my 122 charging 14 volts!
