Krispy wires, Konnektor on firewall, seek knowledge 200 1983

Morning,

Hope to stave off breakdown, break in wintry weather today.

Would like to know wiring layout in/to infamous grey firewall connector.
Car concerned is a 245DL built 1/83, has 2.3 engine w/LH injection and CHRYSLER ignition. BTW does "MPG" in Volvo-speak mean "Chrysler ignition"?

I'm looking at the connector from PASS. side. There are avail. 8 pins, 5 are used on this car. It's hard to tell color(s) anymore....

Again, viewing from pass side where the fraying is, top left pin I'll call no. 1. Bottom left no. 4. Top right, 5. Bottom right, 8. This is convention in Haynes book concerning similar connector at ignition computer.

Sorry no PC graphics I'm still in stone age.

Pin 1 is used. Wire looks grey/yellow. Does what?
Pin 4 is used. Looks brown. Does what?
Pin 5 is used. Looks black. Does what?
Pin 6 is used. Looks grey/yellow. Does what?
Pin 7 is used. Looks red. Does what?

Thanks for any enlightenment, may do quick/dirty bypass cuz must spend time on '81 244 for lady. Her blasted "reliable" '91 Toyota seems to have blown head gasket. All that money/time into a radiator, could have bought and replaced all wiring harnesses on 245 as well as cases of beer.

Cheers,

Frank in oHIo
