Hello,
Drove to pick up wife at work yesterday in our 91 940 T (155,000 miles) and all was Right With the World. Car running Great. Shut down car, wait for 15 minutes, she arrives and we start for home. Car begins surging / smoking generally running like #&@@. Stop Car. Locate loose turbo air feed hose. Reattach hose, set off again. No improvement. Cloud of black smoke behind car. Use 1/8 tank of fuel in 20 miles. Run out of gas. Walk miles for fuel. Wife is unhappy. I am unhappy. Feet hurt. Car is in driveway.
This weekend, will try to find The Cause of Problem. Right now, is pouring rain outside. No garage. From forum, looks like Usual Suspects are either Air Mass Sensor or Fuel Pressure regulator. Given symptoms (and weather will be working in), do these sound appropriate? Where is most reasonable place to start?
Sorry to be dumb. Have much experience with 444 / 544 / 2 series, not so much with fuel injection and Other Mysteries in this Lovely Beast.
Advice, etc. Appreciated.
Thank you
